What is the Job role?

We are looking to recruit an organised, committed, patient and flexible Transport Manager to manage our small team of drivers here at Sherbourne Fields.

As Transport Manager you will be required to work between 25 and 32 hours per week covering the 5-day home/school run (morning and afternoon school home runs), in addition to school trips taken within the school day. Your additional hours will usually be spread over 2 days and will depend on the trips taking place. Other duties will also include the re-fuelling of buses; taking the buses for maintenance checks; organisation and management of drivers (including casuals) for the purpose of school trips; carrying out licence checks and clamping training whilst also maintaining the appropriate records.

Please see the Transport Manager Job Description for further information.

A typical shift pattern would be as follows:

3 days 7.30am – 9.00am/3.00pm – 4.30pm (split shifts)

2 days per week 7.30pm – 4.30pm (30 mins unpaid lunch break)

In addition to the contracted hours, additional hours may be required and therefore applicants must be flexible.

Applicants must either have passed the City Council Defensive Drivers Assessment (D1) or be willing to undertake the assessment. You will also be required to undertake MiDAS driver training, as part of your employment.

You will need to be over 25 years of age and hold a full clean driving licence for a minimum of three years

If you would like an informal discussion around the role of the Transport Manager, please call the school office on 0247659501. And ask to speak with the School Business Manager.
