Money Skills and People Skills
Barclays and the Transformation Trust Life Skills team came into school to deliver two workshops
On Monday 6th October and Friday 17th October a group of people from Barclays and the Transformation Trust Life Skills team came into school to deliver two workshops to students from across the whole school.
The first workshop was on 'Money Skills.' Through a range of activities students were introduced to terms and processes involved in opening a bank account, given the opportunity to develop and manage a pretend budget and they were given the opportunity to develop their understanding of what money means to them and their personal values about money.
The second workshop was on 'People Skills.' Through a range of activities and discussion students explored issues such as overcoming challenges, dealing with future events with confidence and ways they can improve their confidence and their self-confidence.
The students who took part in the workshops thoroughly enjoyed the activities and felt they improved their knowledge after both sessions.
I would like to say a big thank you to Bernie and Sue who led the workshops and had appropriate resources for all of the students in order for them to access the sessions.
