What is the 16 - 19 Student Bursary Fund? 

The 16-19 Bursary Fund is a grant available to 16 - 19 year old students in education. The bursary can help you with any education-related costs that may arise during the school year; including essentials like a meal during the day, transport to and from school, or you might need extra help to buy books, clothing or equipment for your course, or pay for educational visits. 

Before you make your application, please note there are two different Bursary Applications for you to choose from. 

Form A is the Vulnerable Student Award, given to students who are looked after by the local authority, or those who are currently in receipt of Disability Living Allowance AND Personal Independance Payments, or Employment Support Allowance. 

Form B is a Discretionary Bursary Award. Applications are considered and awarded by the school according to the schools 16-19 Bursary Policy.

PART A – VULNERABLE STUDENT BURSARY FUND £1200.00

Is the person you are applying for in care or a care leaver?
Are they receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA), or Personal Independence Payments (PIP) in their own name, in addition to Employment Support Allowance?

Please note: you will need to provide evidence of benefits along with UK citizenship to support your application before any payments are made.

APPLICATIONS ARE ASSESSED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS TO ENSURE THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS USED IN A WAY THAT BENEFITS THE STUDENT MOST
